Corpus luteum = Gelbkörper (Med.; lat. luteus = gelb, goldgelb); ↑ -tropin], das; -s, -e; Syn.: luteinisierendes Hormon (LH), Gelbkörperreifungshormon, zwischen- oder interstitialzellenstimulierendes Hormon (ICSH), Gonadotropin B, Prolan B: von der Hypophyse unter dem Einfluss des L.-Releasing-Hormons ↑ Luliberin sezerniertes gonadotropes Glykoprotein vom MG ca. 30 000, das beim Mann die Testosteron-Sekretion u. bei der Frau Ovulation u. Gelbkörperbildung anregt.
